A lead is not a submit count.

A useful measurement system follows the path from source to service requested, contactability, fit, quote or booking, close, and reason lost. The exact fields should match the business model.

  • source and campaign
  • service, area, timing, and budget context
  • contactability and qualification
  • proposal, booking, close, and revenue
  • reason lost and marketing feedback

Use a simple stage model.

Define a small set of stages staff can use consistently. Do not ask operators to maintain a complex CRM taxonomy that never informs a real marketing decision.

Marketing

Sales or operations

Whether the lead was reachable, qualified, quoted, booked, closed, or lost.
